How do I set my new computer to local area connection?

First, read the literature which came with the router -- always assuming you have one.

Please try to supply some basic info when you make a post like this otherwise no-one knows where to begin.

For instance, do you mean by wireless ? Have you run Windows Networking Wizard ? Have you looked at Windows Help and typed in LAN ?
