get a true quad core. you can get the Athlon II X4 640 for the same price. the extra cores are worth losing the L3 cache

get a better GPU. a GTX 460 768 MB model is $150

Mechanical drives (even the velociraptors) don't saturate SATA II. There is no point paying the premium for the sata 3 1TB drive, when SATA 2 is similar performance.
