Hello everybody :) .

I try to make my own computer and that's for me the first time ! So I read everything I could and try to build the best thing to get something at approximatively 1000 €.

Here is what I found :-) :

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
ASUS M4A89TD PRO - ATX - AMD 890FX
Sapphire RADEON HD 5870
CORSAIR MÉMOIRE PC XMS3 2 X 4 GO DDR3-2000 PC3-16000 CL9 (CMX8GX3M2A2000C9
Western Digital - Caviar Blue - Disque dur Interne 3,5" - 1 To - SATA II
Cooler Master Gladiator 600 - medium - ATX - ( PS/2 ) - noir - USB/Audio/E-SATA

My goal is to have a powerfull PC, able to do everything I want to ^^.

So I tried to find the best rapport price/quality :) .

I am still wondering how to find correctly witch power supply I need, I went on a website and computed 500 watt but quite
not sure and have no idea on how to choose this one, don't want it to crash after 1 year and don't want to hard my hardware :) .

So my question is what do you think about the config, which power supply could you advice to me and if you have some advice or good reference to assemble everything don't hesitate :D .

Thanks for looking and have a nice day !

Oh by the way do you think I need more cooling than the case propose ?

YOu might be able to save 100 Euros by dropping to a quad core; the money saved could up your video card (if planning any modern 3d games at above 1280x1024 res) and/or to an Antec 600-750-800 watt PS.

(I'd rather have 200 watts to spare than be anywhere near the upper limits edge)

Take a look at the Seasonic S12II 520W, Corsair 550VX, Antec TP-550. They are all more than capable of powering a system like that, i would get which ever of the three is cheapest where you live.

I don't think I will put more money in the graphic card she is already quite expensive for me, I would like to have the best one for approximatively 300 €, that might help you give me indications :D .

I found this for the power supply CORSAIR CMPSU-500CX (500 watts), do you thik it would be enough ?

Thanks for you answers :) .

Does some one have some answers ?

I think I will change the gpu by the new one the 6870 cause it's cheaper and better theoretically.

The 6870 is not better, it performs closer to a 5850 than a 5870. I wouldnt get one of the newer CX series, they are a bit weaker than the comparable units in the VX series. If you are going to spend that much on a system why not spend a little extra money to make sure you have a good PSU and wont run into power issues if you decide to OC in the future?

That's probably a good idea :) .

The point is that they are a lot more cheaper ! They cost only 210 euros (6870) and the other one cost 300 euros (5870).

Is the difference so big between the two ? Isn't any advantage in the new serie ?
