Looking to get a new computer mainly for playing Cataclysm and would like to see what you guys thought about the build. Mainly using Intel and Nvidia from all of the advantages it has been said for World of Warcraft over AMD

no clue what your budget is, but here you go.
wowwmonitor.jpg

and intel has nothing to do with how wow plays. it's more less balanced. not to GPU intensive not too CPU intensive.
just have a good GPU and you'll be fine.
GTX 460 1gb hits 100fps+ at a res of 1920 x 1080 no matter what the cpu is
but if you go with an athlon ii x3 you'll have 3 cores instead of 2 whcih should also help.

Trying to have a budget under $1000 if lower it would be awesome.

I was sayng the i3 because of the whole review i read on Cpu/Gpu combination for Cataclysm.

Heres the Link. On the conclusion

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/world-of-warcraft-cataclysm-directx-11-performance,2793-22.html

"That's not to say you can't get playable frame rates from a processor from AMD. But wow--they turn in significantly lower average frame rates in Cataclysm. Like, even the fastest unreleased six-core CPU gets pegged at 60 FPS with a GeForce GTX 480 under the hood. Thinking the problem could have been with our graphics card, we even swapped in a Radeon HD 5870 and saw the same ceiling at 59 frames per second. You can get more performance for about $150 less from a dual-core Core i3-530. Sad."

the resolution there using shows a lot.
Intel CPU's scale better at anything below 1920x 1080
its usually not as drastic as cataclysm but they do,
AMD Cpu tend to scale better once you get to resolutions likw 1920 x 1080 and above.
just to be safe though heres an i3 build.

The motherboard gives you the option of using sli with another 460 later on but if you want to give up that ability you can save money on a motherboard that doesn't have that capability

I wouldn't go with that 460. It is the SE version so it only has 288 Processing cores whereas the normal gtx460 has 336

Would an i5 760 vs an i3 550 affect the fps that much? If so then i might go with that,

I dont want to do sli so a motherboard without it would be fine.

What would be the best Cpu/Mobo combo then
