Why no Athlon 64 with RAID?

Probably due to the chipset. Intel has at least one chipset that
supports RAID 0/1 (not sure about laptops however). I'm guessing that
chipset options for AMD-based laptops are more limited.

Well, now, depends on whether you want RAID support in the BIOS or not.
I've had RAID running on my Gateway, but using external drives and Linux.

I suspect most people want RAID support in the BIOS, because they use
Windows not Linux unfortunately.
