Basically, I'm trying to build a powerful computer that will I be able to use for the next 5ish years. (I know thats a long time in computer years but I achieved this with the last one I built). I'm also trying to future proof this build for a while (USB3, SLI, Crossfire, SATA 6GB, 802.11n)

Approximate Purchase Date: Next 2-3 months
Budget Range: Up to $1200 (but the lower the better)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Surfing the internet, programming, playing music, video editing, watching movies, gaming
Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com
Country of Origin: US
Parts Preferences: XFX, EVGA, Asus, Gigabyte, Corsair, Geil, WD, Seagate
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Want the option but won't be using it off the bat (future proofing for the most part)
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Parts list as of now:

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=12914271

I'm just looking for some feedback, suggestions, or problems someone may see.

Thanks

i agree with with 'bavman' on the GPU for sure (don't get the GTX 465)

however, unless your primary use of the PC will be video editing... go with the i7... much better all-around CPU

you have a decent build there... just change your GPU

Thanks for the information guys (and sorry for the late response, I was expecting email updates when users posted but they were not coming so I thought no one was replying). I will swap out the GPU and call it a day!
