  1. Can switch to the HAF 922 and save a few bucks since it's plenty big and a better value.

If you plan on adding another graphics card later on since that board will allow for crossfire I would go with a 6000 series card so you can have that possiblity in the future. If not, then it looks good.

Do you have a specific budget?
  2. 1. Senario #1 : CUDA a must for apps outside games
    a. Drop to 770/785G
    b. GTX 460 1GB/256 bit

    2. Scenario #2 : Max scalability/gaming, CUDA is not needed
    a. Mobo is fine, alternatives are 790X chipset and Asrock 870/880G/890GX on SB850 models, ATX form factor
    b. HD 6850

(SAME) AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition AM3 CPU - 3.2Ghz, Quad
    (SAME) Corsair 'Single stick' XMS3 4GB DDR3 RAM - PC10666, 1333MHz, 4096MB
    (SAME) 7200 360Gig harddrive
    (SAME) Dvd/Cd/ Multidrive
    (SAME) 600w PSU

I downsized the board to a midatx, becuase i think $200 for some cheap steel/plastic is pathetic lol. $40 bucks pleases me sufficiently.
    (NEW) XION Vantage Mid-Tower Case
    (NEW) Gigabyte 880GM-UD2H Motherboard
(NEW) Plus i upgraded my card to an EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SuperClocked card.

What you guys think? i think this might be set for Fps. I might purchase all this unless anyone can tell me that i've done something wrong ?
  4. No Budget, but I am absolutely a bargin hunter.
I want to be able to run anything. PFBLY FPS cod's. crisis's. I think this build will grant me my needs.
  5. You want to use 2 sticks of ram to take advantage of dual channel. Here is an option for an entire build:

    CPU: Phenom II 955 $145
    MoBo: AsRock 870 Extreme3 $90
    Mem: G.Skill 1600 2x2GB $60
    GPU: Sapphire 6850 $185 ($170 after rebate)
    Case: HAF 912 $60

And if you wanted to upgrade the PSU I'd go with the Corsair 650TX for $90

If not your total is $540 ($525 after rebate)

This GPU leaves you the option of adding another 6850 later in crossfire. A 460 cannot sli unless you get an nvidia chipset on the amd board which I would not recommend. Also the 6850's crossfire very well and use minimal power.

Also what resolution are you playing at? You might have to add more in the GPU department if you want to max out crisis on a high resolution
  6. where are you buying all this from lol ?
Iam in Australia. i can only buy from *** all shops. besides tigerdirect. there not the best prices. and that reminds me if i buy something from there are there prices in australian $'s or American?
  7. They're in american sorry. Thats on newegg
  8. no worries man. so your saying that motherboard was crap lol ? i thought it was cheap haha
  9. why did you pick asrock 870
  10. I'm not saying it's crap I'm just picking the best features/quality for the price and that just happens to be a good balance between both since it can crossfire and has 6gb/s etc

Idk how the pricing is in australia for these parts. I'm sure there are better deals on other things there
  11. probs man, i dont think that iam gonna crossfire nor sli. What board would do me well then ?
  12. Gtx 480?
