DX Diag Incorrect Vid Card Memory

I have a MSI GTS 450 with 1 gig of ram. I just ran the dx diag to check something and I saw that it is reporting that my vid card has 2784 mb of memory. Does anybody have any idea why it would be reporting incorrect amount of memory. My system is brand new with..
Windows 7 home 64 bit, dx 11
I7-870
Asus P7P55D Pro Mobo
GTS 450
4 Gigs ram ddr3

My DXDiag reports the same amount of memory with GTX 460s SLI. It seems to be a norm with DXDiag. Perhaps someone has a clear explanation as to why, but I can tell you that it's not a problem if you think it might be.
