to make a long story short, my insurance company replaced my system with what they consider an "equivalent" one.

Here are the specs.

Original System:

Proc: I7 - 920
HeatSink: Ultra120 Extreme Thermalright
MOBO: ASUS P6T
VGA: Sapphire HD 4870 512 MB
MEM: 6 gb G.SKILL F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ
HD: WD caviar black 7200 RPM 640 gig 32 MB
PSU: Corsair TX650
DVD: Pioneer 108
CASE: CoolMaster 690

New system

Proc: I7 - 920
HeatSink: Zalman CNPS 10X Quiet
MOBO: ASUS P6T SE
VGA: Sapphire HD 4890 1 gig
MEM: Kingston Value RAM KVR1333D3N9K3/6G 6GB 3X2GB 1333MHZ CL9 PC3-10600 Triple Channel
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 3.5IN 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Hard Drive
PSU: Everest 80 Plus 600 W
DVD: LG super multi
CASE: Antec VSK-2000

On the plus side: I get a better VGA, a bigger HD (although I prefer WD)

On the minus side: the new case sucks (compared with the CM-690), the PSU has less power (although it's a modular one which is cool) and I have the "SE" version of the P6T (although differences seem not that significant)

memory and DVD drive seems comparable.

Dunno what to think of the cooler yet. The Ultra120 was good and properly installed by NCIX. The Zalman seems to do the job so far, but it is less expensive I think.

What do you guyz think ?

It's not like I can re-use the old one.
Is it worth fighting for a new replacement system given that they've upgraded some parts and downgraded others

Fixed.

Its not the wattage thats the problem, its the shady quality that scares me. Replace it ASAP.

FSP or Fortron are one of the largest PSU manufacturers in the world! Many of the well known brands of PSYs are in fact Fortron made! FSP are mostly OEM manufacturer! I've used their PSUs for years and I love them!
