Am going to order parts in the next few days and want opinions on this setup.ECS BLACK SERIES A790GXM-AD3 AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard.CPU is AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor.Memory is CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory.Power supply CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply.Thanks for your replies.

If u are dead set on Thuban hit an 800 series mobo as a 700 series one would require a mandatory BIOS update - have a look at the 870/880G/890GX Asrock SB850/ATX mobos? Also what would u use the machine for X6 + 8GB?

i'd suggest sticking to a motherboard from Gigabyte or ASUS... and +1 on getting one from the 800 series (you get sata6 too)... and make sure you get USB3 as well

What about this combo AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor and ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890GX HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard.Better choice?

dear iam highly recommend dont use amd processors.if u want to buy amd phenom x6 black edition so why u not buying intel core i7 x edition and it has ultra xtreme over clocking upto 5ghz and slightly faster than amd 16 cores and core i7 has only 8 cores maximum intel beat amd.i have also intel core 2 duo 2.8ghz e8400 with 4gb ram ddr2 1066 mhz all latest games run in maximum resolution very smooth just like a movie.so go for intel i series and choose mobo in asus or gigabyte both are outstanding result with nvidia gtx 580 1gb gddr5. best luck

Up to a 955BE and Asus 890GX overpriced so Asrock 800 series for CF option :lol:
