So I'm looking at these 2 items with practically the same price but I was wondering if I should be looking for higher mhz or a better latency.

I am building a gaming pc for a i5 sandy bridge 2500k processor and a GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3 mobo.

Would love any insight on the matter. Thank you

1600 mhz is the sweet point for sandy bridge. It gives the best performance for it's price. I would just get the 1600 mhz and use the $20 on another component preferably a better graphic card.

well the reason i asked was because atm the 2133 are $20 off on newegg. so its a $5 difference which is practically nothing

I just don't know in the real world how latency or compnent speed actually effects peformance. and if voltage means anything besides stress on the psu.

Sandy bridge functions really well with 1600Mhz Ram@1.5v. The low voltage RAM kit above is the better deal.
2133 RAM won't do you much good, unless you plan on OC'ing. You will, more than likely, have to give 2133Mhz a voltage bump.

Here's some info .... with the 2500k and not the 2600k, I gotta guess that gaming is the goal. FAst RAM is much more important with the 2600k as if ya sprung for HT, generally the apps that like HT benefit much more from fast RAM. But that doesn't mean there is no advantage for gaming......it' small, but generally the performance increase (3-5%) is bigger than the increase in system (2-4%) cost.
