Found this i like the price, any thoughts http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-121-353&SortField=0&SummaryType=2&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Keywords=%28keywords%29#scrollFullInfo

More about upgrading 8800
  1. That's going to be a downgrade.
  2. I should correct myself, replacing old the 8800
  3. Your link is to a GT240 and that is a slower card than the 8800GT thus a downgrade.
  4. Yea but my 8800 is shot, so i need a replacement
  5. The only new card that would be slightly better than an 8800GT in the Nvidia line up is a GTS450.
  6. Well i'd agree with mouse, get a GTS 450, that or the 5750.

Lowest price 450: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130572 114.99$ after MIR if your in the US/CA
Plus you'll get civ 5 free.
    Lowest price 5750: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131372 110$ after MIR
  7. You need to spend more.

Try this, its $115 after rebate with free shipping and a crazy factory OC.

But if you HAVE to stay under $100, go for this

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131365&cm_re=4850-_-14-131-365-_-Product

    or this

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121381&cm_re=geforce_250gts-_-14-121-381-_-Product

These are both under $100, and will be descent upgrades over the 8800GT, but no DX11
  8. If h going for a 240GT, he might as well go for a 5670

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102871&cm_re=ati_5670-_-14-102-871-_-Product

for less than $70, and you get DX11.
  9. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] -_-Product

    or this

    as mentioned above

these are the strongest option in your range

but the 5750 @114 is the best buy
  10. I was an nvidia fan too, till they totally re badged the 9 series and called it a new generation, and than rebadged the 8800GTX into 200 series...
  11. ^ well... I'm AMD/ATI fan but I will admit, nvidia was not all bad. The 460 was a really good make, I mean if the 6850 didn't come out that'd probably be the downfall of AMD in the mid-ranged department. So... the 460 is the great part of nvidia. So was the GTX 260, still today the 260 is playable on most games.
