Memory Upgrade for a Laptop

Is upgrading memory for a laptop as easy as it is for a tower. I have no idea how compatibility works for laptops. Is all DDR3 ram for laptops the same (similar to how it is with non-laptop computers)?

laptop RAM is different and a bit more expensive. they use whats called SO-DIMMs (small outline) just look up laptop ram and you will find it. as for installing yes it is as easy as desktops with most modern laptops its usually located under a plate underneath the laptop.

Ok cool. So is all DDR3 laptop ram compatible with all laptops that support DDR3, or are there different sub levels of DDR3 ram?
