NEED HELP PLEASE

my config:
Ati Radeon 5970 2gb Black Edition
Amd Phenom x6 1090t black edition
4gb hyperx Ram
Asus crosshair formula IV motherboard
LG Flatron E2240 LED monitor


I have just installed windows 7 professional and installed all the drivers but the resolution on my pc does not go beyond 1400x900. I tried installing the drivers from the cd provided wit my monitor but it does not continue because i think the setup is only for 32 big OS. I dnt know wat to do. I need a higher resolution? Can sum1 please help. And i have installed the latest drivers fr my video Card as well. Wen i go to device manager>monitor is says Generic Non-PnP monitor. Is it a windows problem?

What cord are you connecting your monitor with? DVI?
For now, uninstall drivers, go to safe mode, then use this: http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ and get rid of all ATI drivers. Then do a fresh install of this https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/10-10_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_enu.exe

Also, try go to hardware manager and update the drivers for your monitor, sometimes that does the trick.

If both of the above doesnt work, try using a DVI cord without the adapter. Your display has a DVI input. In some cases the dongle messes up the display's resolution info.

yea it has eyefinity i havent installed any softwares for it since i have only 1 monitor.
