More about card
  1. What have you covered it up with and why?
  2. Did you wrap your cards in FOIL?

    WTF indeed...
  3. That looks like cardboard gone over with a marker pen. I am assuming some ghetto airflow aid or something like that. Basically an insulator and the OP is aksing why the card is hot.

Why did the previous owner do this? Also the board is abit sticky because of the sticky tape that someone taped on there -_-

As I don't know nor have ever met the previous owner I can't answer that but lighter fluid or methylated spirits can be used to remove the sticky residue left by the tape.

Not if you take the card out first and let it dry completely before reinstalling it and powering up.

Dude, unless your rubbing it with flint and the back is sandpaper, I wouldn't worry about RUBBING alcohol.
  17. If the girl from the escort service shows up wearing one of these, she's secondhand. Use a little lighter fluid.

  26. i lol so hard when i saw this thread..
  27. I tryed take the residue off but its still there just less sticky.
  28. But it doesnt matter it isnt important. Its just abit of sticky stuff on the board aslong as it doesnt make everything in my computer sticky then im fine.

Its just back in the day i had a watercooled computer and one of the hoses broke and ruined my system. everything was wet.
  29. ruboff should work. can find it in stores like lows,wal-mart etc
  30. Yeah but will the residue even do anything to the card itself?
  31. you should try to find a broken video card of the same make/model of yours and salvage the parts for the fan/heatsink etc.
    edit: on ebay

  41. Thanks everyone, I took off all the residue using some electornic cleaner liquid and now the residue is barely there. Its not sticky enough to carry a 1cmx1cm piece of a tissue xD. Also I pick mouse monkey as best answer because he posted here trying to help quite a few times. But thank you too all that helped I really appreciate you guys helping. Thank you!
