What do you think of this build?

This is the build:

Instead of the thermaltake case in the image I am going to use the Antec 300 case and I am thinking of getting 965 version of the cpu because of the low cost difference... What do you think?

More about what build
  1. Fill out form in sticky, link in my sig.

Also, link a picture where stuff is actually legible.
  2. Approximate Purchase Date: January

Budget Range: 700GBP (About $1000) for everything including monitor

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Movies, different programs and everything else

Parts Not Required: mouse, Os, Hard drive

    Preferred Website(s) for Parts: None

    Country of Origin: UK

    Parts Preferences: AMD Cpu

    Overclocking: Maybe

    SLI or Crossfire: Maybe later

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 - I want to get this one: http://www.electrical123.com/products/ProductDetail.asp?ProductCode=LG-COM-W2253V-BK&utm_source=google&utm_medium=basefeed

Additional Comments: I really would like it to have a window and lots of bling/lights, I would like a quiet gaming PC

According to these things I ended up with this build:

This build + Antec 300 case + that monitor + some kind of keyboard = 700 GBP

What do you think of it?
  3. Ok much better!

First, that mobo won't actually run Xfire or SLI. Second slot is x4, so won't work.

Save some money by going with a Phenom II x4 955. That's an identical chip for less.

For gaming at 1080p you'll want a better GPU. In the US, a GTX 460 can be bought for ~$120. for 768 mb, $155 for 1gb.

Just remember, no SLI on AMD chipsets. So you can actually get a cheaper Mobo
    like this GA 770

Don't think you can fit a xfire capable mobo and a 1080p gaming GPu for that budget though.
  4. Ok, If I were to get the motherboard you said then would it still be good if I got a Radeon HD 5850 because there is a guy on ebay who is selling it a lot cheaper than it should be and I can afford it but I still have to find out if it is legit. But would it be a good idea?
  5. Yea, a 5850 is better than a gtx 460 and btwn a 6850 and 6870.
If you can find one for the equivalent of ~$160 then it's definitely a good deal.
  6. And also here is the link to the cheap GPU, do you think it is legit?
  7. Newer models have a DisplayPort port instead of TV Out. Looks like a slightly older model.
    Specs are okay.

    Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
