Cleaning stock i7 heatsink

Can someone tell me the best way to clean the i7 heatsink without removing it?

I'm guessing with a compressed air can, but will it drive dust between the fins?

You should be able to remove the fan from the heat sink, and then yeah just blow the compressed air through the fins. You might want a vaccuum nearby, but don't let the metal nozzle touch the PC at all. If possible attach a plastic nozzle. Actually maybe just forget the vaccuum lol. (seriously tho, they can discharge a lot of static electricity and kill a PC).
