Hello, I have the following:

E8400 @3.6GHz
Gigabyte P45 MOBO
4GB RAM DDR2 800MHz
Nvidia GTS 512MB (G92) @ 725MHz/1100RAM
Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate

Right now im using a 22" monitor @16x10 and have no problems running most games except crysis of course the way would like to. I will be connecting this pc to a 1080P 46" Sony Bravia soon and will need a video card that has HDMI, and might as well get something that will play crysis and warhead on that TV properly @ 19x10.

What card should I get ?

my budget is less than $300 CAN. 6870 just came out at $299 and 6850 doesnt feel that futureproof. GTX 470 is also $299 so i may have to wait for them to drop in price cause right now thats a little high

Based off of the specs you have given I would go with the 6870 for its low heat and power consumption it is pretty much on par with a gtx 470 or maybe a little better at times. Unless you can find the gtx 470 for real cheap I would go 6870. Do you have crossfiring capabilities because it looks like the 6800 series cards scale very well and can even compete with the 460/470 in sli where as the 5000 series although they were great cards there scaling capabilities were significantly less, and if im not mistaken 2 6870s often beats out a 5970 which is amazing. however for 19X10 the 6870 should be great i know crysis performance on the 6000 series is improve over comparable 5 series setups but im not saying you will be able to max everything unless you happy with your fps in the 30s because that game is just so darn demanding even with top notch hardware, so you will have to be a little realistic for the 1 card crysis performance but by all means you can get it to look great and be more than playable im sure of that. Overall I would go 6870 it handles tesselation well enough to compete with the 470 in dx11 side by side and even best it on many occasions

Thanks for the reply's

My gut feeling was to go with the 6870 as well, i do not have a mobo that does two video cars at the same time nor would i want to do that anyways in the future.

Thanks for the canadian Link, i did not know newegg had a canadian site.

I think i will go with a 6870, its a brand new card and looks good for the price and performance on 19x10 monitors...

good choice you will be flying high in no time
