Hi everybody,
I've just bought an used Compaq Presario 724EA. It is working quite
well, but it has a small problem the seller had warned me about : its
BIOS battery, that keeps among other things the time/date settings when
no other power source remains, is empty. He said he always kept the
laptop battery outside the laptop to preserve it, thus the BIOS battery
seems to have been much more used than in any other equivalent laptop.
Anyone knows how to change it ? Is there a lot of things to disassembly
? I'm very confortable with dissassembling computers, even laptops, it's
part of my job, but I need to know what to disassembly exactely to do
this. I didn't find any information about this on HP/Compaq website, or
anywhere else by searching on google.

not familiar with that model but some of the batteries in laptops are easily
accessed some are not.
