Remove cooler master v8 fin

Hello,

I have 2 Xeon e5620 chips on an Asus Z8NA-D6C board that I am building. I _also_ have 2xCoolerMaster V8 cooling units.

They do not fit as far as I can tell. However, it looks like if I remove one side and an unused piece of the back plate, it will fit. I'm not entirely uncomfortable with this approach - the Xeons put out 80w and the stock V8 claims to dissipate 180, so I still believe it will be effective.

Has anybody done similar? Is this a horrid idea? Thank you.
