Hi guys,

I'm planning on buying an ASUS X79 Sabretooth MB. I have some doubts in regards to the memory modules for this board. It officialy supports 8 DIMMs up to 1866Mhz.

I want 32GB of ram in it, so I am thinking to go for two of "4x4 CORSAIR 16GB KIT DDR3 1866MHz CL9 - Prod. number CMZ16GX3M4X1866C9"

Now...if I populate all the 8 slots with 4 GB dimms, would they still run properly at 1866Mhz?

I am not sure if it's worth to buy these, when I can get the "CORSAIR 4 x 8 DIMMs 32GB KIT DDR3 1600MHz CL10 Vengeance - Prod. number: CMZ32GX3M4X1600C10" at cheaper price.

There are also way cheaper 4 GB modules that are presented only as "Dual Channel ready" running at 1600Mhz.

Out of all these options, I have no idea what to choose, so any help would be appreciated.

I am planning to use the machine VMware test lab box/moderate gaming/standard workstation. I would like to get the most out of the memory as I'll have lots of VMs and other stuff running in there.

Thanks

Get this memory, but if you want the best get the link under the first one...

G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (8 x 4GB) 1600MHz C9 $249.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231500

These two are great, the only different mostly is just the speed but the timing are tight on them, BTW they are meant for X79 platform so you wont ever have problem with them... The link under this is probably the BEST for X79 platform in my opinion lol...

G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (8 x 4GB) 2133MHz C9 Now: $359.99
