My friend's old NTL Home 120 modem seems to be functioning correctly from the lights on the box, but when connected to the PC, the PC doesn't see it connected at all. It was working up to about 10 minutes ago then this suddenly happened. Any ideas that might work until he can get Virgin round to replace it for a newer model?
He says the USB, U/S, D/S lights are off, while the ethernet, sync and RDY lights are on.

I'd imagine if the issue is described to Virgin they will offer a solution -- if the line test is okay they will probably post him a new modem.
