  1. Yes,6870 will give you almost double the performance of 5770.And it will work fine with your PSU

"500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for AMD CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)"
  2. That is also my plan if you are jumping in now let me know how it goes for you
  3. what resolution are you playing at? You might want to just wait for the next round of 6000s to drop.
  4. i play at 1600x900
  5. at that resolution, and if you're after dx11, and if you have the money, then go for it.

but you might need some cpu upgrade as well for the 6870 to shine. your x2 245 should go.
  6. Oh i know i know :/ Also need to get Windows 7 too still using XP.
  7. id suggest buying a copy of win 7 and upgrading the CPU first. You will see a performance increase just from upgrading the CPU with your 5770. A high end athlon x 4 or phenom x4 would be great.
  8. 6870 will be %56 faster than 5770. I have CF mobo, so I will wait to see if 5770 price will drop. 5770x2 is faster than 6870, by about 10%.
