I just plugged in my movies HDD (400GB SATA seagate 3.5 inch drive) while my system was running, and everything powered down. No sparks, no weird noises, no smoke, just off. I tried switching the PSU off and back on, but the box just won't light up again. No fans, no light, no nothing.
Anyone care to venture a guess as to what may have happened? Am I going to have to replace everything? I feel like such a dick! And right on christmas eve! I was planning on hooking it up to my Dad's 42 inch tv tomorrow.

Solution
Supposed SATA 'hotswap' works great ...when it does..

Get a tiny connector slightly misaligned, however, and you can quickly short out a PSU..

Let's hope that is all that occurred.

Got my new PSU today, and everything lit up just fine! Yay!
Now I just need to get a floppy disc with the raid drivers for the mobo raid.
