I built a computer a few months ago using the following parts:
Core i5 750 (overclocked to 3.2ghz)
MSI P55M-GD45 mobo
G-Skill 4GB DDR3 1333 ram
EVGA GTX 460 1GB
WD 640GB Blue HD
600W Zalman PSU
Windows 7 32-bit
When i first put this PC together, I was using my old 9800gt graphics card before upgrading to the GTX460 about 2 months ago.
The problem I'm having is that my computer will freeze randomly about once a week or even less. When it freezes, the sound that's playing will be a constant droning noise. At first, i thought it just froze randomly, but then i noticed it seems to freeze when I play videos, either on VLC or watching Youtube or anything online. Even when switching from the 9800gt to gtx460, the problem seems to persist.
This isn't a problem I can duplicate consistently. I've been able to sit through hours of video with no freezing and I've run Prime95 for over 3 hours with no problems. What could be causing this problem?
