Temperature issues on a GTX 470

Hi everyone

Would be someone nice to tell me:

OPERATIONAL TEMPERATURES AT FULL LOAD ON A GTX 470

The enviroment I have:

* Mid Tower Asus chasis with two TTk Smart 80x80x25 (at mid speed)

* Normal blower at the bottom of case (mid speed also)

* The PSU has its own really big fan on the bottom of it...

* Ambience Temperature of 30°c


The other day playing METRO 2033 GPU-Z report this:


GPU TEMP MAX 190°c

PCB TEMP MAX 191°c

MAIN COOLER AT 85%



I Tthink it is TOO MUCH HEAT...

The VGA is STANDARD (it´s new). NO OC. NO RIVATUNNER....

When opening the case, drop to ~130°


Idle 70°c close

Idle 55°c open case

Ps: It is a really nice vga. Massive performance

What version of GPUz are you using to get those readings? The max temp that the GPU will reach is 104c or thereabouts then it will either throttle back or shut down, it will never get to nearly 200c.

Not Celcius, Farienheit I believe

Thaks. I was using 0.4.6 whit a bug

0.4.7 works fine !
