How can I Check if my PC is PCI Express based

AMD's website says that the X1600 is a 16x PCI-E card so you should be all set on that front.

Just keep in mind the power supply requirements of a new card and that big manufacturers like HP, Dell, etc... tend to use cheap PSUs that degrade over time. If you are considering a higher end graphics card you will probably need a PSU upgrade as well.

Thanks for that,

I've been looking into it over the last week & boy is there a big choice out there!! Given the fact the CPU is a core 2 duo E6400 (2.13 GHZ), would it be worth changing that as well?

I’ve contacted PB support & they tell me that my system will support Intel Core 2 Duo models with LGA775 max of 1066 FSB. So in theory, the E6700 is the “best” processor to get.

As that is circa £100, is it worth getting the CPU updated as well as the Graphics Card & PSU, or is my E6400 good enough?
