i got i7 880 3.06 few months before i7 2600k came out. which is faster,
I feel a bit disapointed, cause i7 2600k is twice cheaper and faster...
is that right? does anyone knows how is it for games?
Thanks and Regards,

Edd

Unless you can sell it for a good price, keep it.

Buyers remorse... the bane of PC enthusiasts.

IMO, no point in upgrading. Just overclock your 880 if you want more speed.

your 880 is not a bad idea, 2600k is faster but not that cheaper compared to 1156 series.
no point upgrading, you wont see the speed difference in gaming, maybe in video editing and 3d image rendering
but not that big. i also knew about 2600 before, didnt bother waiting for it, got 950 few months ago.
intel i7s has no big deal, whether series 1156, 1155, 1366, they are all a great performer, slight difference in performance,
maybe if you got AMD processor, thats a bit disapointing.

Real life differences are unlikely to appear. Except you didn't have to worry the motherboard recall, or wonder if you should wait for new motherboard chipset, or maybe regret you didn't..Sargeant Pepper's..

If you plan to upgrade to a new processor every time a slightly better one is released, prepare to spend a lot of money in the long run.

SSD ftw! I kind of wish I had a bigger one, but I can fit 4 or 5 games on mine as it is so it's fine for me.

Nice, pretty good price too! Is that the new Intel series then? I'm using an X25M 80gb.

There will always be better units coming out. Fact of life. Keep it and enjoy it.

My point to him is only to weigh carefully peoples suggested individual builds. Tom's does not "try to fit everything into one article". If you read them you would know that.

grab a SSD and game with a purpose... LOL

I Have a SSD allready, but only 64 GB, so I have to use one of my old HDD to put Steam games on it.... (97 games of steam) for example.
there is a issue with it, u can't split your steam games in few folders.
I did installed only one game COD BO, but there is no point, cause in every server(online gameplay) u always waiting for other players... so Im using it only for my OS

This video is for you, then. (it's how to move individual games onto a different drive)
