Internet speed is not stable

My internet speed is very unstable and it makes surfing the internet hell.

It would keep going from 54.0 Mbps to 1.0 Mbps randomly, I have a strong connection though, does anybody know how to solve this?

Do you have a N router and a G network card? Which model router?

The pci-wireless card I am using is this one

It should support all b/g/n,

as for the router Linksys WRT310N v1.00.4

Put the rourter in the air.
Turn off any wireless phones.
Reinstall the latest drivers.
check / replace cable from router to modem.

Ahh, it's a shared connection. How many users at one time?
The bandwidth will be divided between all users. It's probally too many users at a time, and can't handle all the traffic.
Does it work better at say 3:00am compared to 6:00pm, do other residents have the same complaint?

apparently turning it off for 5 minutes solved the problem
