More about processor suggestion
  1. I'll take it that you already have a motherboard for that CPU?
  2. no i dont
  3. parts needed are: motherboard, cpu, ram, graphics card, case, psu, dvd
  4. All for $500.00?

Also, how soon do you wish to upgrade?

If you wait until Jan 9th, Sandy Bridge might be a good fit for you as it will be priced very competitively... benchies below as well as probable pricing:

  5. The GTX460 choice is solid, but, any i5 processor/mainboard typically outframes the even 400-500 Mhz higher clocked X4 rigs, much less the X2 variants....yes, it the i5 rig will cost $100 more, but, is the better choice, even if you start with only a single stick of RAM. (Unlocking other cpu cores is 'iffy', at best, and not the place to gamble to save $40-$60.....)
  6. Will a AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2 GHZ Processor bottleneck a Geforce GTX 460 768 MB
