Just installed a CORSAIR CAFA70 120mm Dual-Fan CPU Cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181011 on my i5-750. The thing barley fit into my RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156078 only after removing both of the side window 80mm fans. I'm a lil worried about air flow because I have a GTX 470 that runs like a oven and likes to creep up in the 90C range under full load. My questions are:
1) Is there any slim style 80mm fans that I might be able to squeeze between the side window and HSF.
2) How much would removing one of the fans on the HSF decrease the cooling efficiency?
3) Is there possibly a smaller HSF I could swap out using the bracket that came with the CAFA70?(I had to take apart the whole friggin rig to put on the current one and refuse to do it again)
4) Should I just do some homemade mods to try to get the two fans I had to remove to fit.
5) And finally should I just not sweat the loss of the two 80mm side window fans.

Also should mention I currently have the HSF blowing down onto the video card, would it be better to reverse this? I just got everything installed yesterday and haven't had time to monitor some temps under load yet, I could be worrying all for not.

HSF blowing towards the video card does not sounds too good.. Its almost adding up the heat which it pulls out from the CPU.. Btw, IMO the exclusion of the side fan is not going to cause any havocs.. Your temps will remain more or less the same..

I tried the Coolermaster Vortex Plus HSF but with a 32nm i3 540 and it worked well. I tried the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ with an i5 750 so I know it gets much hotter than the i3 540, but you could read some reviews of it and take it from there. Think the Vortex Plus is 84mm high.
