Can I use laptop 2.5 inch SATA in Desktop?

My cousin's laptop died.

Can I connect her laptop's 2.5 inch SATA hard drive in my desktop? I plan on using the Desktop SATA power cable and SATA data cable.

Will this cause problems?

YOu can use it, once it is safely mounted.....should not cause any issues.

Yes you can. The connections were actually the same (SATA cable and power) as 3.5" variant. The only difference was the size.

Yes you can. The connections were actually the same (SATA cable and power) as 3.5" variant. The only difference was the size.

Once the 2.5" drive is out of the laptop there may be a plastic clip-connector over the
normal sata connections. Pull that off and you can use the mode sata cables that
most desktop PC's systems use.
