E6550 Compatibility issues

Hello I have a dell optiplex 745 with a Pentium d 3.0 and i just bought a Intel Core 2 Duo e6550 2.33 ghz but when i install the CPU the power light turn orange and the fan turns to high speed but no picture on the screen i have already tried flashing the bios to 2.6.4 hoping that this would resolve the issue but it has not.
Can some one please help.

Your Dell only supports core2duo's with fsb of 1066MHz, the E6550 has fsb 1333MHz.
