I have Sapphire HD 4870 Toxic 1GB and 1680x1050 LCD monitor, should I upgrade my card to HD 6870. Is new card brings any major improvements? Or Should I get new monitor with Full HD first?

thanks

I personally would go for the monitor first! The HD4870 is still great for your resolution and good at full HD.

+1^
4870 can handle all games fine on 1680x1050,so first buy a new monitor, then upgrade your card.

Monitor first.....Then wait until ATI and Nvidia have released the next batch of cards. Could be some drops in prices!

Yup, invest in the monitor! Even at 1920x1080p the card can more than handle the extra 15% resolution. Left for dead 2 ran at a consistent 60FPS (v-sync enabled) with everything maxed (AA at 4x, AF at 16x). I just recently upgraded to the 6870 to future proof myself and installed the 4870 in my second PC. Emperus is right – 69xx is coming shortly, so you may be able to get it on sale when you're ready to buy!
