Can anyone help me figure out what the VW and VH series monitors from Asus are best used for. I would like to purchase a monitor very soon for a system I just built and it is down to 2 different Asus monitors...

VH236H and the VW246H

I am not concerned with price, or really wether it is 23" or 24", I would just like to get the best monitor for what I will be using it for, which is mostly movies, and gaming.

Besides a slight difference in aesthetics, the only difference I can find between the two is $50.

But really, does anyone know what these two series of monitors are geared towards? Any help is appreciated.

The VW series has a 2 ms response time while the VH series has a 5 mS response time. Not a huge difference really, but some people with super good vision might notice a difference.

These monitors are geared for personal entertainment (i.e. video and gaming).

Color accuracy is not of great concern.

Both monitors have exactly the same Response Time: 2 ms (Gray-to-Gray)

The differences I see are the following from the ASUS website side-by-side comparison tool:

VH236H
Pixel Pitch: 0.266mm
Viewing Angle (CR>=10): 160°(H)/160°(V)
Audio Output: SPDIF
Analog Signal Frequency: 30~83 KHz(H)/ 50~75 Hz(V)
Digital Signal Frequency: 30~83 KHz(H)/ 50~75 Hz(V)
Power Consumption < 55 W
Power Saving Mode < 1 W

VW246H
Pixel Pitch: 0.270mm
Viewing Angle (CR>=10): 170°(H)/160°(V)
Analog Signal Frequency: 30~80 KHz(H)/ 55~75 Hz(V)
Digital Signal Frequency: 30-80KHz(H)/55-75Hz(V)
Power Consumption < 60 W
Power Saving Mode < 2 W

Only you can determine if the wider viewing angle and bigger screen size on the VW246H is worth $50.
