USB Ports stopped working in my Dell 9200 No Key Board or mouse

I got up out of my chair and grabbed my wired mouse, I got one heck of a static shock.
The Dell Dimension 9200 then powered down.
I restarted my desk top and Windows Vista went thru all it steps and it looked ok.
I tried to use the mouse and the key board, neither worked.
I rebooted and watched Vista come up and I saw a key board failure message while on the way to the desk top.
Could I have blown the USB circuit board?
Any help will be appreciated.Thanks,

With the static, I'd be worried that a something may have blown on the motherboard. None the less, you can try reinstalling the chipset, which will refresh the USB controllers. If that doesn't work and it is still under warranty, get in touch with Dell and see what they have to say.

if not under warranty
then USB 2.0 PCI card for about $20 USD is
cheap and ugly fix
