Currently running:

Phenom II x4 955BE C3 o/c to 3.5GHz
Gigabyte AM3 board (NO SLI/Crossfire)
GTX 460 1GB (running stock 700/1800)
2x2GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1333
1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm

Only considering those listed, what would be the next best upgrade, considering only ONE component, only gaming, and likely distant future?

Something not performing as well as you would like? Its important to know why you want to upgrade, if there isnt a reason other than just wanting to upgrade i would wait for a little while longer until you need to, you get more for your money that way.

Thanks for the reply. I am definitely not going to upgrade immediately (probably not any time soon), but I wanted a guideline as to which single component would be best to upgrade when it comes time.

It would depend on what you want to achieve. You already have a great CPU and unless you do computational intensive work, there is no point in going X6. You could always get a newer/better GPU if some games start to lag. You could also get an SSD for your OS drive or even programs/games depending on your budget (but just as an OS drive, it would make your PC feel more responsive and boot faster).

Thanks, I'll probably go with an SSD next (but down the road).
