Recording Studio Build + Upgradeable Later For Other Things

Thanks to everyone that is already reading this thread. :)

I need to build a computer that can be used for professional studio recording.

I want an i7 Processor, and 12 GB of triple channel ram @ 1333 +

My motherboard should have some space open for GPU's also because at some point later on I plan on video editing, and gaming. For now though just audio and recording.

But I would like to sli or cf @ (x16/x16) (x16/x16/x8)

I would like if the case is able to have a see through window.

Anything that is left out of the budget could be used for pre amps, or other things if you could recommend them.

For just the computer my budget is 800- 1100 CAD AFTER REBATES SHIPPING AND TAXES

If you can manage to squeeze in other things like pre amps and etc then please do so, but if not just keep it computer strictly, I think Im just saying not to take away from the computer to add in other things ill need for the studio :p

Anyways thank you in advance, any help is appreciated :)

Do you also need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and OS, to be included in that budget?

Nope got monitors, keyboards and mice.

But if you can fit it in with the budget ( if I have any left ) a nice or better keyboard would be cool, but don't add one unless theres extra budget space for it.

Ive got OS.

Its a good computer, but it has nothing to to with studio recording.. xD

I need like a really high end sound card, and anything for a video card because i wont be gaming until later on. I do perfer nVidia though. I mean a killer sound card and a gtx 450 w/ nice cuda tech would be perfect. Cause then later on i will upgrade it to something with like 2 or 3 470's

To add a good sound card and keep the Graphics the same, would either require a bigger budget or reduce some of the other features, i.e less memory, maybe an I5 instead of an I7, possibly even an AMD build... Your call..
Here is a studio type sound card for $219.00:

Alright then can you try an AMD build?

I have some preferences though:

Must be SIX Core

12 GB Ram

nVidia GPU 450, or 460, or 470 no 465 unless its an unlockable one.

ATI is okay only if its gonna be great for video editing ( Later on even gaming )

But for now i need the computer to focus on the sound, and music production.

Case Must be: Sunbeam AC9B-T

I want to dual boot MAC OS X and Windows 7, so I need like two 30 GB SSD`s or One 60GB

and 1 TB of space for regular stuff.

IF you need to sacrifice the SSD`s so I can get it in the budget of 800 - 1100 after rebates and shipping. I need it in that budget

You can take a look at this...Sorry, no SSD's and the sound card is out-of-stock, GTX450's are not available @newegg, and I have no idea how you will go about dual booting Mac OS-X. The MB is dual channel so the only way to get 12 GB is a 8 GB kit plus a 4 GB kit of ram:

1 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL $91.99
1 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL $45.99
1 SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive-Bare $74.99
1 M-AUDIO Delta 1010LT PCI Interface 10-In-10-Out PCI Virtual Studio $218.99
1 AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT55TFBGRBOX $189.00
1 Sunbeam AC9B-T Transparent Clear Acrylic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case $89.99
1 LITE-ON CD/DVD Burner - Bulk Black SATA Model iHAS124-04 - OEM $17.99
1 CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC
-$40.00 Instant$10.00 USD Mail-in Rebate $149.99 $109.99
1 ASUS M4N98TD EVO AM3 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard $144.99
1 ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU TOP/2DI/768MD5 GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card -$10.00 Instant $20.00 Mail-in Rebate Card $173.49 $163.49

for a grand total of $1,147.41
Plus shipping and tax...$164.85 plus whatever the tax & shipping on the sound card :o  Like HeyImGodly said getting a $1400 build for $1100 is next to impossible :pt1cable:
Also, this build is strictly hardware, the only sound software is what comes with the sound card... The Sunbeam Transformer IC-TR-US-BA-WOPSU case is cheaper after the $25.00 rebate and bigger than the model you selected and has more fans for cooling....You would only have one fan in the AC9B-T.

Its all good cause i found a tiger direct store nearby, and their website says its only about 237.99 CAD, so about 15 bucks more compared to 218 + shipping.

Thanks mate!

If "Hackintosh" compatibility is important, You may want to swap out the CPU, Motherboard &ram from the Intel build. I haven't heard of anyone running OS-X on an AMD build...  The other components would work with either build.

Good luck!
