Hey guys. I just got a brand new 9800pro but it has Hynix DDR on it. It works great with stock speeds, but I'm interested in overclocking. (No, I haven't overclocked my card). Got a VGA silencer and everything. So if anyone has a 9800pro with Samsung DDR that they haven't overclocked or don't plan on overclocking, I'd be willing to trade ya, as long as you have the original receipt and it's no more than a few months old. Thanks!

the DDR is NOT inferior at stock speeds. It just lacks much overclocking ability. I want to trade with someone who has no desire to overclock their card. Both DDR's perform the same at stock speeds so they would not be getting an inferior card by any means.

But, if I may ask, what would be the advantage of having your card? What would make the trade desireable? Does it have any other features that the card with the other memory doesn't?

Ok, I see your point. There is no real advantage to having my card per se, but if someone's not going to overclock an overclockable card, that card's kinda going to waste. I guess my card being brand spankin' new would be an advantage, warranty/reliability wise...I guess. It's no big deal. I have a friend who's buying a Saphire pretty soon and he'll probably trade me if he get's Samsung because he's not into the overclocking thing at all.

do you know what rust smells like? a lot like blood...

anyway, dood, if anyone here is so much into this to know if they have hynix or samsung ddr ram on their card, they are OCing it. the only way this trade would be worth anyones time and headache is if you were to offer them some money while paying for all the shipping costs. no one is so stupid to go through so much trouble so satisfy you, no offence.

none taken, but to "satisfy" me? Kind of a strange way to put it...but ok...

Hey, it was an honest gesture, not some twisted scam. No biggie. Hell if I was to pay money plus cover shipping charges, I'd be better off selling it on ebay, while buying one with samsung at the same time.

You're right. This probably isn't the best place to be making an offer such as this, but man, you guys act like I'm trying to trade a 128 MB pro for a 256MB XT or something...sheesh...well, I'll take it with a grain of salt and sleep easy, knowing I can still spell...no "offense" or anything...
