No sound..... suggestions?

Hello,
So I got a toshiba satellite a105 s1712 (used, mind you) for christmas, and there is no sound for music or streaming or anything. What are some things I can check for for troubleshooting?

open your cntrl panel or sound icon, and make sure nothing is muted or disabled within cntrl panel/device mngr
