What kind of system requirements will I need to stream from one DLNA server to multiple devices simultaneously?

I'm a college student and I share a house with about 20 other people. I was going to set up a file server (FTP, whatever) and let people access files from their computer, but then I thought if people could connect to the server via their xbox or PS3 and watch movies on their TV that would be pretty neat.

For an FTP server, a used P4 off craigslist would be good enough. But lets say I've got 5 computers, 5 PS3, and 5 xbox (15 machines total) connecting to this server streaming video (dvd quality, not HD). What kind of specs will I need on my server to handle this load? Will my network even be able to handle it or should I also invest in a wired switch?

Thanks guys.

some sort of 1 gb switch/connection should suffice, unless planning on all 15 people people trying to watch movies simultaneously.....
