Installing ati radeon hd 4650

did you install the drivers from the amd site?

Hi, thx Im not sure what i did but i think problem solved; it stopped asking me to install the software. I was wondering did microsoft finish directx 10.1, which my card supports, or did they skip to directx 11 and i have to continue with directx 9(c)? On the directx update page i dont see directx 10.1

If the driver is designed for DirectX11 it may not be "happy" with DirectX 10. Xp users should now use DirectX 9.0C and Vista/7 users DirectX 11. MS was done with DX 10.1 a couple years back, though you will want 11 now. Your card is only going to technically support the 10.1 internally, but you should still use 11.

If it says found new hardware and the driver is not installed properly than you are only part of the way there.

what OS you currently running? about the directx stuff i think it is better not thinking much about it. just update yours to the latest one and you should be able to play game just fine

Im running XP service pack 3, direct x 9.0c. My new card supports direct x 10.1, but didnt find a download, and shader model 4.1 Shader models isnt something you download its part of direct x or am i wrong?

Ah direct x 10 is for Vista and shader models are part for the hardware. Thx for the help.
