Well i've got these two graphics cards, and one pc to upgrade from a Geforce fx 5200, so i'll leave it to you guys to choose which one.

Well if you play games then the 8600GT 1GB would be better over the FireGL. If your a workstation user then the FireGL is better for professional graphic applications. Both are bad for current games but if it has to be the 8600GT will allow you to play at low resolution medium settings on most games.

i've tested them both, the 8600gt has 128bit bus and 12.8 gb/s bandwidth, whereas my v3400 has 16gb/s bandwidth and 256bit bus, i'm kinda confused...

Right but the v3400 is not meant for gaming. The 8600GT is so that choice is for you to make.
