Has my 4870 died?

An LED fan I had positioned in my build fell onto the graphics card and when it did did the pc turned off and wouldn't restart the fan was a cheap one that had a bit of bare metal showing on each corner, I just got the motherboard back from biostar and the system boots up with the onboard graphics but no display with the graphics card. The only hope I have is that the card was in crossfire mode before it blew but I don't have the other 4870 handy to try it out. Is this just desparate thinking or is there a chance the card is ok ? Thanks
