Hi all,

I have a set of Corsair Vengeance 16GB (CML16GX3M4A1600C9) on its way home. I will be pairing this with an Intel i5-2500k and an Asrock Extreme4 Gen3 board. If I want to overclock my RAM, which will yield best results on the Intel platform? Higher clock speeds or tigther timings?

What are the best stable clocks / timings you guys have got? Plese indicate platform and voltage in your responses.

Overclocking your RAM has very little benefits in-game, I leave my RAM at stock settings.

1600Mhz @ 9-9-9-24-2N, 1.5v

it works perfectly fine and overclocking RAM will only see an increase of 1-2 FPS in-game, Not really even noticeable.

Higher clock speeds would increase performance the most (1-2FPS) on an intel system. For the AMD's tighter timings are best (for 1-2FPS). Having a good HSF and OCing your CPU will net the highest gains (aside from a good GFX card) depending on the resolution you play at.
