hey toms, quick question:
im building a new comp, but i am wondering if my last PSU (550 watt OCZ) will suffice. The new build will be asus mobo, intel i5 2500 sandy bridge, just one AMD 6950, 2 sticks DDR3 RAM, 2 HDDs, one SSD, and like 4-6 case fans plus aftermarket cpu HSF. Thanks for the help!

For the components you listed, yes 550 Watts PSU in good condition will suffice. RAM, SSDs, HDDs, fans, heatsinks, consume very little power. The real power beasts are the graphics cards.

For the future, I would reccomend about 650W or more, in case you want dual gpu's.

yea, if i ever decide to Crossfire the 6950 sometime down the line, i planned on getting a new PSU. So 650 watts would be fine for 2 AMD 6950 GPUs?
