Asus sabertooth p67 16gb corsair vengeance

Hello,
Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! My question is about a new build. Im getting ready to put everything together, and I noticed 16 gb of corsair vengeance is not listed as a qualified vendor in my sabertooth p67 manual. I also found a thread about a guy having problems getting his sabertooth to boot after adding 16 gb of vengeance ram. should I return this ram to frys before the fifteen day policy expires? Hope I dont have too... Thnks,

Jim

  1. Any of these Corsair Vengeance 4x4GB sets are perfectly fine regardless of the outdated QVL lists -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=100006650&isNodeId=1&Description=Vengeance&x=0&y=0
  2. Thank you for the reply. Is there a more compatable mo bo for my components? my total parts list is:

    2600k
    16gb vengeance
    sabertooth
    msi r6990
    cooler master 850
    120 ssd
    1 tb platter dr

    Thank you
  3. I double-checked the PSU size and it's okay up to 4.6GHz on the CPU but with only ~50W overhead to OC the HD 6990. Meaning if you plan to OC both the CPU and GPU then you'll need a larger PSU e.g. Corsair Professional Series HX1050 or Corsair Professional Series Gold AX1200.

Since I don't know what SSD I have no way to advise you, some are great some are horrible.
  4. Ill be looking for problems w my psu and replace it if I overclock. Gotta go home and check the ssd and get back. Thanks for your time!
