New build, USBs not working

2x2GB G-Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600
AMD Phenom II 3.4Ghz Quad Core
ATI Radeon HD 5770
(Other specs on request)

The RAM, CPU and motherboard are all new parts, and USBs re enabled in BIOS. The keyboard works in BIOS, and sometimes the lights on my keybord abd mouse willl be lit, but once the OS has booted, neither work. I have not installed the motherboard drivers because this has prevented me from doing so.

Any ideas?

Can you try a PS2 set to install the drivers.

I could only find a mouse, and it doesn't appear to be working either.

Scratch that, after a restart or two it's working, will report after drivers are installed.
