2x GTX 460 are as fast, or faster than a GTX 480 which is faster than a 5870. The 2gb version is specialized 6 eyefinity edition, which means you can hook up to 6 monitors to one vid card, as apposed to the 4 you would get with dual 460s.

For gaming dual 460s> 2gb 5870

if someone came up to me right now and said here are two 460's you can have, or a 5870 2gb, i would take the 5870 2gb. not sure if that helps you, but that is what i would do (assuming i had the hardware to push it).

This is a no brainer, the 2x 460's. However, even over that, the new AMD 6xxx series has amazing scaling, so 2x 6850's would be even better, and cheaper. You would save about $40, use less power, and get better performance.

if you are just looking at the performance , dual 460 is faster in almost all benchmarks

i am not sure about the prices , but if they are at the same price i will choose the dual 460
