I recently put together a PC with an Asus M5A97 with an AMD FX-6100. However, I get to the Windows loading screen and I get a BSOD (Stop:0x7B). I've tried updating the BIOS, but no bueno. I'm positive the hard drive and RAM are working just fine since I've tested them on another PC. Anyone have any ideas? Also, one of the "recommended" RAM slots does not recognize my RAM, but all the others work fine.

Hey i know this wont help you but i actually had a question you might be able to answer for me. I bought the same processor and motherboard on black friday, barely got around to building it last night and i cant get video out. were you able to drop the processor in and it work right away. Im thinking the motherboard may not be playing nice with my Corsair vengence ram? if you could tell me if you needed to preform a bios update before you were able to get video or if you had a similar situation.

Hi i have been messing around with this for a month or so now got it all working by using an old AM3 processor to update the bios using the 0810 update on asus website, then got a HD6950 for it and put it in no joy put old GT9800 back in and tried to update the bios and bing pc dead again red light on on mobo saying cpu not recognised ???
will try and put it back to old 0810 biosand see what happens i think asus and Amd need to speak to each other to sort this issue out, this system should be a M5A 97 pro mobo a FX6100 cpu and 8GB rip jaws memory and a HD6950 2GB card nice antec cooler and bobs your uncle or so i thought. working it out
